The sultry Delhi NCR weekend saw
the culmination of leading corporate honchos, top media
personalities, film students, diplomats & socialites at AAFT,
Film City Noida. This elite crowd came to celebrate the 186th
anniversary of Independence of Peru & The First Peruvian Film
Festival organized by Brandsmith & the Embassy of Peru in India.

Welcoming
the guests, Rahul Mittra CEO Brandsmith & the organizer of this
event, emphasized the need for enhanced Indo-Peruvian relations. "India
& Peru have had historic ties in the past and to further this
very cause we have initiated a host of measures beginning from
today," said Mittra. Promotion of Spanish language, trade
delegations & media junkets to Peru, Peruvian food festival and
the launch of

a website dedicated to enhanced Indo-Peruvian relations, trade,
business advisory & cultural exchange were some of the
initiatives highlighted by Rahul Mittra.
The Acting Ambassador of Peru Carlos A. Irigoyen thanked
Brandsmith & the partners for organizing this unique festival,
the first of its kind in India. " Its very heartening to see
the overwhelming response to the 186th Anniversary of our
Independence & the First Peruvian Film Festival ," said His
Excellency who spent 28th evening & entire 29th, personally
greeting and interacting with the guests.
The festival was kick-started by screening Dias de Santiago, which
won the Poona & Kerala film Festival. Directed by Josue Mendez,
the film revolved around a veteran Naval Peruvian and his dilemma
between an honest life of poverty & an act of desperation. The
other two films screened were Tinta Roja & Ojos que no ven. All
the films had English sub-titles and received an excellent response
from the audience.
Sandeep Marwah, President AAFT also addressed the audience and
conveyed his gratitude to His Excellency Irigoyen & Rahul Mittra
CEO Brandsmith for giving AAFT an opportunity to align with this
niche event.
This festival was supported by
Abbscissa, Thermax, Tata,s, JK Tyre, Oswal Projects, Chatteau Indage
and the Bharat Peru Maitri Samiti and was covered extensively by
national print & electronic media. The inaugural day ended with
the elite guests standing in attention while national anthems of
both the countries played, followed by wine & champagne by
Chateau Indage and sumptuous snacks and mesmerizing saxophone
performance & scintillating Spanish music.
