The sleepy town of Aurangabad in Maharashtra woke up to the biggest wedding of all times whilst Karan Darda, son of political bigwig Rajendra Darda & nephew of popular MP & Chairman Lokmat Group Vijay Darda, tied the knot with Ruchira Aggarwal, an advocate by profession

VIPs in hundreds from across India descended on the mammoth well-decked Garware Stadium. Undoubtedly the wedding of the year, this event had the crème Dela crème of India in attendance, drawn from Bollywood, corporate world, politics & media.

The celebrity list included big names from the realm of politics, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Civial Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan, Amar Singh, Farooq Abdullah, Rajiv Shukla, Jaya Pradha & Jaya Bachhan. The corporate world was well-represented too- Gautam Singhania & Vijay Mallaya being the notable ones. A battery of Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmuhk, Tulip Joshi, Yukta Mukhi, Asrani & ace director Madhur Bhandarkar spent the entire evening congratulating the Dardas. The media fraternity came in large numbers to cover one of the biggest weddings of Maharashtra, including senior editors of print & electronic media and Rahul Mittra, CEO Brandsmith.

The bridegroom’s father Rajendra Darda & uncle Vijay Darda were seen patiently welcoming the guests at the massive stage erected to accommodate the celebrities & VIP,s. “We are elated to see the turnout today,” said MP & Chairman Lokmat Vijay Darda. “This is a result of the love that the Darda family has earned over the decades.”

More than 20 chartered flights brought the VIP guests to and fro from Aurangabad and nearly 20,000 people attended this mega wedding.
