Brandsmith
hosts XL Pioneer Club 2008
Top socialites, social workers,
corporate heads, media professionals & politicians descended at
the Park Hotel in the capital city recently to meet the visiting XL
Pioneer members from across the world.
Organised by leading Brand Promotions Company Brandsmith, this
niche event was part of the Hunger Eradication project.
The Pioneer Club, a $5 million joint poverty alleviation initiative
between The Hunger Project and XL Group, was announced in New York
last September at the Clinton Global Initiative in response to the
former US President's call for private sector commitments to
resolving global issues.
To demonstrate its commitment to combat starvation and improve
health, education, nutrition, and family incomes in rural India the
Pioneer Club members are on a leadership visit to India. The total
funding comes from the Pioneer Group, while its implementation is
facilitated by more than 90 grassroots Indian NGOs, in a
policy-level partnership with the ministry of Panchayati Raj,
Government of India.
Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways K. H. Muniyappa
congratulated organisors Brandsmith, Sage Foundation & AAFT for
taking this initiative & promised to extend his support to the
XL Pioneer Club in their future endeavours.
Brandsmith has always been associated with social events &
pertinent issues & we are glad to have put this up so quickly.
We see this as part of our corporate social responsibility. I hope
XL Pioneer Club would contribute immensely towards poverty
eradication & women empowerment in India and we will strive to
help them in their future projects in India, said Rahul Mittra
CEO Brandsmith.
